Sergeant Kimberly Lynette Pannell entered into her eternal home on February 23, 2020 , surrounded by the love and devotion of her family. Born the fifth child on January 3, 1970 to Thomas and Mary Helen McKinney Mabry in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The family relocated to Tupelo, Mississippi this is where she was reared. At a early age she was baptized and joined the Lane Chapel C.M.E. Church. She graduated from Tupelo High School in 1989. Had a love for serving, in October 1990 she joined the Mississippi Army National Guard where she received numerous of awards and honors, just to name a few the Meritorious Service Medal, Pending, Posthumous, Army Commendation Medal, 3, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, 4, National Defense Service Medal w/Bronze Service Star, Kosovo Campaign Medal With Bronze Service Sat, Iraq Campaign Medal With Bronze Service Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/M Device, Hour Glass Device, Silver, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon ,2, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon,2, NATO Medal, Combat and Special Skill Badge Basic Marksmanship Qual Badge, Bar, Weapon:Rifle (Inscription:Rifle), Marksman, Overseas Service Bar, she served faithfully until her passing.
A devoted and faithful member of Davis Temple Church of the Living God where she served as President of the Usher Board and a member of the Kitchen Committee.
Kimberly was a devoted mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend who enjoyed spending quality time with her grands and having so much unconditional love for her entire family. in her spare time she enjoyed listing to music and had a love for fashion.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves behind to forever cherish her memories: her two children, Kymlaisha Pannell, Montell Kirk, two grands: Kody Pannell and Kymberli Pounds, her siblings, Connie Norwood, Sylvia (Steven) Mayhorn, John (Melissa) Mabry, Jewel (Terry) Bumphis, Angela Mabry, Myrtle (Tytus) Howell, Thomas Payne, Jeffery Perkins, Harold Payne, two aunts, Myrdell Sanders, Henrine Payne, one great-aunt, Aquila Rogers and a host of other relatives and friends.
